The hard part isn't studying

Spaced repetition works. Medical students basically live on Anki. But writing hundreds of cards by hand? That's where most people quit.

AI can write decent cards in seconds now. So I wanted two things: a calmer app to study in, and a safe way to let an AI fill it for me.

A study session

  1. Today: 16 cards waiting and a Start button

1Today shows how many cards are waiting, and one button to start.

  2. A single card: What is an affordance?

2One card fills the screen. Nothing else fights for your attention.

  3. The answer, with Missed it and Got it

3Space flips it. You choose Missed it or Got it, and the schedule adapts.

  4. Courses: Product design, Embedded systems, Japanese

4Courses and chapters, for when you want to organise.

It works on Android too, though it isn't on the Play Store yet.

Letting an AI in, safely

  • It practises first. A dry run shows the AI exactly what would change, without writing anything.
  • Sending the same cards twice does nothing. Duplicates are skipped.
  • Every change an AI makes is logged on its own screen, so you can always check what it did.
  • Mistakes come back clearly, naming the exact field that's wrong.

Small things

  • No account, no tracking, no internet needed. Everything lives in one folder you can back up.
  • You don't start from zero. It imports Anki decks and spreadsheets.
  • Two answer buttons, not four. Miss Anki's finer grades? Switch them back on in settings.

Where it is now

It's open source on GitHub and runs on Mac, Windows and Linux.
